Steven Dhondt

Researcher, Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) & Professor, KU Leuven

Steven Dhondt is a senior researcher at TNO and a professor at the KU Leuven (Belgium). TNO is one of the largest Research and Technology Organisations in the European Union. Steven coordinates several major Dutch (Smart Working programme) and European projects (HorizonEurope Bridges 5.0), developing insights on the impacts of robotics and digitisation on organisational practices. Next to his research, he advises the Dutch government and the European Commission. He is a member of the executive board of the European learning network on Workplace Innovation (EUWIN), on the Steering Board of the Community of Practice Industry 5.0 of the European Commission, and an advisor on working conditions to Eurofound and the European Commission (DG MOVE). He has authored several books and co-authored papers in the European Journal of Workplace Innovation, New Technology, Work and Employment, Applied Ergonomics, Team Performance Management. His latest book (2025) is on Technology, Globalisation and Migration: Interconnected Challenges for Inequality and Skills, and is published by Edward Elgar Publishers.
