Ethan Everett | Skillaroos (WordSkills Team Australia)

Ethan Everett’s connection to bricklaying runs deep; a craft passed down from his father, a seasoned WorldSkills judge and volunteer. This legacy sparked Ethan’s own passion in the trade, and since he first set foot on a job site four years ago, he’s been laying the foundation for a promising career.

Ethan credits his robust support network, including his family and employer, for guiding him through the transition from school to apprenticeship – a change that has led him to find his true passion and thrive through hands-on experience.

Ethan’s drive to excel in his trade was evident when he won the National competition. Taking home gold made his demanding work schedule (including a daily hour-and-a-half commute) and rigorous competition training worth it.

Ethan aspires to be a WorldSkills ambassador and ignite a similar passion in young tradespeople. He understands the value of mentorship, having received tailored guidance from his mentor, Andrew Hosking, who has been instrumental in refining his technique and instilling the philosophy to “fight for every single millimetre.”
